New staircases come without the need for posts and by using precision joinery mitres and hidden joints, along with each string going all the way to ground, this staircase is a solid structure. We are also able to renovate an existing staircase with posts to achieve the frameless look by changing all of the posts to the same thickness as the original string, thus keeping the integrity of the post by taking away the bulk and thickness.
The ‘Mop Stick’ Handrail comes in two sizes depending on your preference: 44mm diameter for a seamless look or the 54mm diameter for a more robust style. Both options come in a variety of materials, such as American White Oak, American Black Walnut, Pine, Sapele, Ash and stainless steel.
For this style, the glass is required to be 13mm laminated so that IF the glass did for some reason break, it wouldn’t be left without a handrail. There are options for low iron and tinted glass.
To begin, the glass is siliconed to the full width of the string on the staircase. Once set, another string is then siliconed to the glass and fixed through 20mm pre cut holes in the glass to staircase. Both strings will sit directly onto the floor and are fixed and pelleted at various points.
